What Is a PDF File?
A PDF file, or Portable Document Format, is a digital document format designed to preserve the way a document looks when it is opened, shared, or printed. Unlike an editable Word document, a PDF helps keep your fonts, images, page layout, spacing, and formatting consistent.
PDF files are commonly used for book printing, brochures, business documents, forms, flyers, and other printed materials because the file is designed to maintain its appearance across different computers and devices.
Why Are PDF Files Used for Book Printing?
When you send a book to a printer, you want the printed pages to look the same as the pages you approved on your computer. A properly prepared PDF helps accomplish this by preserving the layout of your book.
For book printing, your PDF can contain:

How Do I Create a PDF?

Before sending your PDF to the printer, open the finished file and carefully review it. Check your page order, page numbers, images, margins, fonts, and overall formatting.
